On the Set of Saving Amy - Sunday, November 10, 2002

My friend John had "intro to video art" as a class last semester and for his final, he decided to make a martial arts movie with one of those "save the girl" story lines. So he gathered his friends to be camera-people and henchmen, and i got some friends from wushu to be henchmen also. It was a blast taping... editing was a pain in the butt... especially the sound... but it was still fun.
warming up... hiyyyaaaahhh John and his brother James practicing their fight scene.
Their cute dog, Bear. couldn't have made the movie without him. James shaved his head the day before to play a badguy.
John's parents helped out a lot, and they provided pizza after the shoot. Did someone say pizza? i'm there!
2 vs. 6... i like the odds.
DUCK!!! yeah, lots of mud... it was slippery, so walking around was difficult.. never mind the fighting part.
Asian robocop... kung-fu fighter...guy
Our friend Jen Keefe manned one of the cameras
John Mr. director man with ropes and sticks and stuff... some of the many props used to add excitement this action packed movie.
Wanna piece o' Me?
Cool midaction shot from John's fight with James.
That's Lena on the hill in the distance... she was a good sport about things... half dressed in the cold... pretty much sitting and watching most of the time. Brian on the other hand, got sick for 2 weeks after this... and everyone at wushu blamed me for it... i mean... come on... half dressed girl is fine, but brian gets sick... whatever, boohoo.
The final fight scene to save the girl!! That's my friend Chris from wushu... brown hair Chris, cause there's another Chris... anyway, his ninja costume was awesome for the stereotypical henchmen.

Shooting Day 2 - Friday, November 15

The first day of shooting was important, cause it was nearly impossible to gather everyone... later that week, we met to finish shooting other scenes.

James... without the skull face.
James' friend Alison didn't realize it when she came over, but she would help out with the taping and even play a vital role in the script.

John's car got mad abuse that day. The sound of screeching tires in the movie was not a sound effect.
On the way back to John's house, there wasn't enough room in front, so i had to ride home in the trunk... it was fun.
TO BE CONTINUED... I have the same video class this semester... and i'm definitely planning on making an fighting movie for my final project also. :)
