| Rehearsal with the Zhejiang Team - Friday January 31, 2003 |

After months of anticipation, the Zhejiang team finally arrived on Thursday night. They had in there group 5 athletes, a coach, and several officials. On Friday night, we had a rehearsal to iron out details about music, lights, stage entrance and exit, and stuff like that. It was at Timothy Edwards Middle School in South Windsor. For us though... it was a sneak preview of the amazing stuff we'll be seeing at the Saturday performance.
Funny thing is... they just walked through their routines... and it still looked a hundred times better than ours... and we were going all out. So... so sad.
Anyway, most of the pics on this page were stills taken off my video camera... which are horrible to print, but look wonderful on the web. Best of all, i didn't have to photoshop out dust i usually get from scanning. Horray for miniDV.
My captions are minimal, cause there are just way too many pictures to think of something funny to go along with them... in my usual thecharles fashion.

Team parents play a huge role in putting this together... Mr. Graner, Scott's dad, does all the music, light, and stage cue things... dude, that job would be way too stressful for me. |

| Yeah... after a while of not being able to talk... we tried to write things out... that didn't help much either, but they had this nifty translator between Chinese and English... but that still didn't help. Know what? Derrick was at our table too... and he speaks CHINESE!!! and he didn't really help out. Oh well... it was fun anyway. Verbal communication is over-rated anyway. |
